The law is there to protect your rights when you buy goods or services, but what happens when things go wrong or you are treated unfairly by a trader?

On the 1st October 2015, the new Consumer Rights Act 2015 comes into force, which will seek to improve UK consumer legislation, being the biggest shake-up in consumer rights law for many years, consolidating several pieces of legislation into one.

The new act is set to ensure that companies provide clearer timescales and remedies for consumers, enabling them to claim a refund, repair or replacement on faulty or unsatisfactory goods and poor services, making things easier and clearer for consumers.
